Stories of women who made it

Real stories. Real women. Real hope.

Kristýna

Kristýna's story

For 20 years I looked for my father in every bottle. For one year I didn't look anywhere. And finally I found myself.

Kristýna doesn't remember her father. He left early. And in his place came a stepfather who never gave her what she longed for. Safety. Understanding. Unconditional love.

Her whole life she went from man to man. Looking in each of them for the father she only dreamed about. And each of them – differently, in various ways, each time more painfully – disappointed.

She drank for 20 years. Not because she wanted to. But because the pain had to go somewhere.

She has two children. A great job. Lives in Prague and doesn't need anyone – on paper. But at home, in her heart, she was waiting for someone to save her.

And then she understood: the rescuer is her.

Today, Kristýna has been sober for a year. Things with her partner are still not easy – she knows that and isn't ashamed. But she also knows that one day the right one will come. Not as a rescue. As a bonus to the life she built herself.

She's proud of herself. And that's more than she ever expected.

"One year without alcohol. Two children. A great job. I'm proud of myself – and that's something I didn't know for a long time."

— Kristýna, Prague

Katka

Katka's story

I drank for 25 years. Then I told myself: only someone who's been through it can help me. And I was right.

Katka knew what she needed. She knew it even when she couldn't afford it.

She drank for 25 years. Tried different paths. Programs, brochures, determination. But every time she looked at a coach or therapist, she felt a gap: "You've never experienced it. You don't know what it's really like."

And then she heard about us.

Women who went through addiction. Who know the feeling from their own skin. She wanted to try. But there was no money.

She wrote to us. We arranged payment plans. And Katka started.

Today she helps women who are where she once was. Without money. With a desire to heal. With doubts about whether anyone will understand them.

Katka understands them. Because she lived exactly that.

"I didn't have money. But I had the courage to reach out. And that was enough."

One right message at the right moment was all it took. And I didn't reach for the bottle.

In the morning I opened the diary instead of a bottle. That was the turning point.

Transformation gave me back my daughters. And myself.

— Transformation participant

Those I've helped are already helping others. And that's exactly why I do this.
